Our Wedding Dress Process

Every detail, handled with care

Preserving the delicate features of a fine wedding or christening gown demands professional expertise. We follow a meticulous process from the moment your gown arrives.

Thorough Inspection

We examine your gown from top to bottom, identifying all stains — including invisible ones from champagne, clear beverages, and sweat that will yellow over time if not treated.

Gentle Cleaning

Wedding gowns contain delicate fabrics — silk, satin, chiffon, organza, and tulle — often with beading, embroidery, and lace. We use the appropriate cleaning method for each fabric and embellishment.

Stain Pre-Treatment

Every identified stain — food, mud, grass, wine, and makeup — is individually pre-treated with the appropriate spotting agents before the main cleaning process begins.

Thread & Ornament Check

We check and repair any loose threads, buttons, hooks, or ornamental details before and after cleaning to ensure your gown is returned in perfect condition.

Archival-Quality Preservation

Your gown is carefully packed in its own archival-quality preservation box — acid-free tissue and materials that protect the fabric from yellowing, humidity, and the effects of time.

Preserved for Generations

Properly cleaned and preserved in archival packaging, your gown can be handed down through generations — just as beautiful as the day you wore it.

Why Timing Matters

Clean your dress within one week of the wedding

Most brides do not realize that many wedding day stains are invisible at first. Champagne, perspiration, and clear beverages do not show on the day — but they oxidize over time and turn yellow or brown, becoming extremely difficult or impossible to remove years later.

Within 1 WeekBest chance of full stain removal.
1-4 WeeksMost stains are still treatable.
After 1 MonthSet stains become much harder.

Gown Types We Clean

Every style of bridal & formal gown

Wedding Gowns — All Styles

Ball gowns, A-line, mermaid, sheath, tea-length, and cathedral-length wedding dresses. All fabrics, all embellishments.

Lace & Beaded Gowns

Delicate lace and intricate beading require the most careful handling. We treat each bead and embellishment individually during inspection.

Silk & Satin Gowns

Pure silk and satin are the most sensitive to water and heat. Our specialist uses appropriate dry cleaning solvents to clean without damaging the lustre.

Christening Gowns

Heirloom christening gowns cleaned and preserved with the same care as wedding dresses — so they can be passed to the next generation.

Vintage & Antique Gowns

Older gowns require special consideration for fragile, aged fabrics. We assess each piece individually before proposing a cleaning method.

Designer Bridal Gowns

Vera Wang, Monique Lhuillier, Jenny Yoo, Pronovias — designer bridal gowns cleaned by a specialist who understands their construction.

What to Do With Your Dress After the Wedding

  1. Do not hang the dress in a plastic bag — plastic traps moisture and accelerates yellowing. Hang loosely in a breathable fabric bag until you can bring it to us.
  2. Do not attempt to treat stains yourself — on wedding gowns, this risks permanent damage. Leave it to us.
  3. Bring it to us or schedule a pickup within one week — call 647-236-7132.
  4. Tell us everything about the day — what you ate, drank, where you were, any spills you noticed.

Archival Preservation — Protecting Your Dress for Life

After cleaning, we offer archival-quality preservation packaging. Your gown is carefully folded with acid-free tissue, placed in a pH-neutral preservation box, and sealed to protect it from the effects of time — light, humidity, and oxidation.

Questions

Wedding Dress Cleaning FAQ

Helpful answers before you call, book pickup, or bring in your gown for inspection.

Do you clean wedding dresses across the Niagara Region?

Yes. We provide professional wedding dress dry cleaning and preservation with pickup and delivery across all 10 Niagara Region cities. Call 647-236-7132 to arrange.

How soon after my wedding should I have my dress cleaned?

Within one week if possible. Many wedding day stains — champagne, perspiration, clear beverages — are invisible at first but yellow and set over time.

Do you offer preservation boxing after cleaning?

Yes. After cleaning, we pack your gown in an archival-quality, acid-free preservation box to protect it from yellowing and damage over time.

Can you clean a vintage or antique wedding dress?

Yes, but aged fabrics require special care and individual assessment. Call us at 647-236-7132 before booking so we can discuss the best approach.

Do you clean christening gowns and heirloom garments?

Yes. Christening gowns, flower girl dresses, and other heirloom formal garments are treated with the same care as wedding dresses.

Should I try to remove wedding dress stains at home?

No. Wedding gowns often contain delicate fabrics and embellishments. Home stain removal can permanently damage the gown, so professional inspection is safer.
